This program aims to support adaptive coping and minimize treatment related distress and anxiety experienced by patients receiving treatment or admitted to hospital, by providing therapeutic and medical play activities.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in all related programs and activates such as the Inpatient Medical Therapeutic Play Group, Teddy Bear Clinic Event, Gaming Visits, and other related projects.
- Assist in encouraging patients to engage in activities that offer distraction and developmental play experiences to support patients and boost their intellectual and emotional growth.
- Assist in monitoring patients during activities to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Assist in preparing the needed materials, toys, and activities items.
- Follow all Hospital related policies and procedures.
- Adhere to all Safety and Infection control practices.
- Area of Service: King Fahad National Centre for Children's Cancer.
Eligibility:
- Must be between18 -24 years old.
- Ability to engage and encourage pediatric patients.
- Related volunteering experience is preferable.
- Able to volunteer for (4) weeks.
- Submit the Health Screening Form.
- Must be vaccinated for COVID-19.
- Working hours depend on the need and activities schedule; which might be after business hours.
